Natalie Hunter
Children’s book author and publisher
“I always knew my purpose in life was to serve children, but have always struggled with how I was going to do that. It was later in life after going to school in Early Childhood and Family Studies as well as being a nanny to the most amazing families, that I wanted to serve parents and teachers as well. Fueled by a love for children’s books and the desire to fulfill my creative side, I decided making a children’s book from the ground up, was exactly what I needed to be doing. Children’s books can be so magical and fun. I remember some of my favorite stories as a kid would take me to a different, magical place entirely. And yet, books can also be such a strong teaching tool for adults to use with children. The connections they make to the story as well as sparking their imaginations is something that I truly love. Reading books to all the children in my life is something I enjoy deeply. My first book, Where a Bubble Goes, is my big leap into this publishing world, and I hope it takes the reader into their own little dream world as well.”

“To be honest, I think I will spend the rest of my life wondering why I took on this project, why I suddenly had a streak of unexpected bravery, and why I hadn't done something like this sooner. When Natalie Hunter contacted me about illustrating her charming and wonderful book, I was flabbergasted - I had never taken on anything of this nature or scale and frankly I had no business thinking I could illustrate an entire book. But there was something about Natalie and her story that gave me the courage to tackle this seemingly impossible job. Working on this book with Natalie has been one of the most rewarding, difficult, and trans-formative experiences of my life. It has given me the courage to make space for my passions and prioritize opportunities for creative outlets. It has given me permission to carve out something wholly mine (which as a full-time teacher and full-time mom is incredibly hard to come by), and it has inspired me to try new and exciting things. I hope my son reads this book and knows his mom was once brave in her pursuits, playful with her passions, and dedicated to bringing a little more joy and color into the world.”
